Gagamel International boss Moses Ssali a.k.a Bebe Cool revealed the reasons why he chose to support the Uganda Musician’s Association after criticizing the past artistes’ groups.

While appearing on NBS TV’s UnCut, Bebe explained that he was approached by the president of the UMA, Sophie Gombya, and it was easy for him to accept her request to become the association’s adviser.

“I wasn’t in agreement with the first associations because they had too much hype and attacked particular groups and artists. They also opposed the government, involved so much bickering and egoism.”

“I accepted to be an adviser with UMA because a musicians’ group is being led by a lady for the first time. Women should be put at the forefront and in top leadership roles. That won it for me.”

“If anyone has a problem this time around, it is easier addressing it to a woman. I also hope that she will address the issues with calmness, and to listen to everyone in the group. Women rarely have bad intentions, they’re usually understanding people.”

“When I heard that Ykee Benda is the Vice President of the association, it made me happy because he is not from the crop of the artistes that have been existent for long. That is power sharing which is very good.”
