Legendary artiste Daniel Kazibwe a.k.a Ragga Dee has trashed Mpaka Records C.E.O Ykee Benda’s selection as the Vice President in the newly elected Uganda Musician’s Association (UMA) cabinet.

Last week, several musicians met at Kololo-based DNA Lounge to vote for who they wanted to lead them in their association which was formed to address the issues within the music industry.

In the top positions, Sophie Gombya became the association’s President with Ykee Benda taking the Vice Presidency role. Other positions were as well distributed amongst musicians themselves.

The new cabinet has already faced mixed reactions with several critics pointing out different points of weakness within the selected leaders.

Music legend Ragga Dee particularly revealed that the Vice Presidency role was poorly distributed because Ykee has hardly spent five years in the music industry.

The veteran believes that the young artiste hardly understands the exact problems that musicians are facing in the country and hence his lack of experience regards him inept for the position.

Ykee Benda is a very good musician but very young in the industry. He doesn’t know a lot about the industry,  that is why he doesn’t deserve to be the Vice President. We need  an experienced musician.

This follows several other music critics including Dembe FM’s Talk And Talk cast who despised the entire association stating that all positions were filled by incompetent individuals.
