Local singer Dr. Hilderman, real names Hillary Kiyaga, is not happy at all with music promoters whom he says fronted their selfish needs instead of Bobi Wine’s rights when invited to State House.

Shs2.6b was availed, on orders of President Museveni, to be given to promoters and artistes who made losses when police cancelled different concerts that Bobi Wines had organized.

Andrew Mukasa a.k.a Bajjo, Abbey Musinguzi a.k.a Abtex, Promoter Fifi, Tony Ssempijja, Juma Balunywa, Emma Serugo, among others claimed to have registered losses.

Representing the Uganda Music Promoters and Venue Owners Network, Tony Ssempijja took the responsibility of distributing the money to the promoters and artistes.

Abtex and Bajjo are the only promoters that have remained vocal about Bobi Wine’s freedom despite being compensated for the losses

Dr. Hilderman is totally bemused by how the same promoters that proclaimed their support for Bobi Wine earlier do not even say a word now to fight for his rights.

He notes that they fronted their own interests to settle their losses and once that was achieved, they forgot about fighting for the Kyadondo MP’s rights and freedom to perform again.

What has killed this nation is people who don’t want to make losses but want others to. The promoters should have cared more about the rights of Bobi Wine rather than the money they lost. It’s up to them to know that this country’s situation also concerns them.

He added that he would rather have expected such people to fight for Bobi Wine and the entire fraternity because that is the right thing to do.
