Journalists might now want to start a side budget specifically intended for interviews after city comedienne Anne Kansiime revealed that she will not be doing free interviews anymore.

Anne Kansiime took a few minutes off her schedule to send out rants through her YouTube channel with a video in which she makes it clear that she wants to be paid for every information she gives out.

I have lost the love and the zeal of doing interviews with anyone. I feel like the interviews we keep doing as artistes most of the time don’t work for our brands.

She adds that the only times journalists desire so much to have interviews with popular figures is when there are instabilities going on in the country. Even then, she notes that those interviews do not focus on what you’re doing as an artiste on top of not doing any research about you.

Kansiime also adds that the media channels benefit the most from these interviews and the artistes end up spending so much. On top of that, they are not availed the option of sharing the content on their private channels which she finds a selfish act.

In return, when the artistes have a concert and they need the publicity services of the media, they are ignored. Kansiime has now resorted to turning that all around.

The next time you (media) want me to answer any question or give you content for your platform, this what you’ll need to do: Find me in my comfort, facilitate my expenses and be ready to allow me share the same content on my platforms.

She has now decided to be jealous with her content and she will need payment before she answers those questions. What do you make of her revelation?
