Popular Nigerian stand-up comedian Afamefuna Klint Igwemba, also known as Klint Da Drunk, opened up on why he gave up on his music career for comedy.

While speaking in a press conference that happened at Mestil Hotel Kampala on Wednesday, he addressed the issue of why he had short stint at music.

From his secondary school days, it was known by his classmates and friends as a very funny person who liked seeing smiles on people’s faces.

He started a life of showbiz from an early age. While at IMT Enugu, his reputation as a singer was widely accepted by the school until 2Face Idibia came in as a student and sang at a show.

I was doing singing with my friend and getting popularity. Immediately I heard him (2Face) singing, Oh My God, I entered boda-boda and just went to sleep. Honestly, I could not help it! That guy’s voice threw me away from the music career and I did not only give up but I gave out completely.

From that moment onward, he decided to utilize his talent as a comedian by borrowing a village drunkard’s lifestyle which he later brought onto stage and has never looked back since then.

This is going to be the 3rd time he’s performing in Uganda but it’s his first time to perform at the Comedy Store and the excitement was clear for all to see during the presser.
