Nigeria’s Burna Boy is the King of Africa after walking away with the top prize at the 2019 BET Awards ceremony that took place at the Microsoft Theater on June 23, 2019 in Los Angeles, California.

Once again, no Ugandan was nominated in the prestigious Black Entertainment Awards which saw a couple of Nigerian and UK artistes dominate the Best International Act category – Burna Boy eventually taking it home.

In the highlights of the night, rapper Drake won just one award while Cardi B and the late Nipsey Hussle registered the biggest wins with two awards each. Cardi B won Album of the Year for her debut, Invasion of Privacy.

Ugandan media personalities Kabs Haloha and Anitah Fabiola represented their respective media houses as they caught the action which featured some of the biggest music stars in the world.
