Over the weekend, the Kyabazinga of Busoga instituted a roll of honors for Basoga men and women who have distinguished themselves in public life as transformational leaders.

The honors were categorized in three tiers that saw Sir William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope II receive the medal for distinguished service to humanity – an award that goes to men and organizations which have transformed the lives of many.

The soon outgoing Miss Uganda, Quiin Abenakyo was also honored as one of the people who have promoted and persevered the pride of Busoga.

The Omwoyo Gwa Busoga medal was awarded to exemplary people and organizations which diligently protect, nurture and uphold Busoga’s culture, heritage and selflessness.

The ceremony was held at Bugembe Stadium on Saturday 22nd June 2019 with thousands of joyous Basoga in attendance.
