Yesterday evening, screenshots made rounds on social media showing Swangz Avenue singer Winnie Nwagi hurling insults at Gloria Haguma – a journalist with Sqoop Daily Monitor – for asking to have interview with her.

A group of journalists then attacked the songstress for displaying such ridiculous conduct. Others generalized the entire artistes’ fraternity for having lost professionalism.

Julius Kyazze, a boss at Swangz Avenue, was also alerted about the matter and he condemned the songstress’ act. The pressure was starting to mount especially on social media with different opinions flying around.

The songstress has however apologized to the journalist whom she insulted according to another screenshot that we have managed to look at. Nwagi claims she mistook Haguma for a conman who has been disturbing her for long.

Am so sorry for the way I handled this. I have some con person that is disturbing me lately. Am so sorry, please forgive me. I apologize, hope you forgive me someday.

Winnie Nwagi

It is not clear yet if the journalists have forgiven Nwagi but she is really sorry and we hope this can be done away with.
