President Museveni rewards Cranes with Shs3.7 billion as appreciation

The President of Uganda H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni recognized the entire delegation of 42 national football team players and staff as he rewarded them with one million US Dollars.

The huge sum of money is approximately totaled to Shs3.7 billion as a token of appreciation to the team for the amazing display they put up in the ongoing Total 2019 Africa Nations Cup.

Unlike in the 2017 edition where the Cranes’ only managed to garner one point and a goal, the team managed to collect 4 points from their group and went ahead to qualify for the round of last 16 for the very first time in 41 years this time around.

Player are expected to pocket the most of the provided money after an order by President Museveni and the rest will be shared among the staff that traveled with the team.

The President went ahead and joked about how the cranes need to get more stamina as he stated that he didn’t know how Senegal got the goal that eliminated the Cranes from of the tournament.

I don’t know how Senegal got that goal because I can see you are all fit young people. I think what you need to do is get more stamina

Museveni hosted the national team delegation which had just landed from Egypt at the State House in Entebbe on Monday night.
