UNAA refutes claims that Ugandan artistes were denied visas to the US

On Thursday evening, reports made rounds indicating how top Ugandan artistes had been denied travel visas to the United States of America for the 2019 UNAA Convention.

The artistes who were reportedly denied travel visas – due to lack of the required permits to perform in the US – include John Blaq, Geosteady, Kenneth Mugabi, Fille Mutoni and Naira Ali.

In a strong-worded post on the UNAA social media platforms, however, the reports were rubbished by the body asserting that they are baseless and untrue.

Certain individuals in the media have been giving false, unprofessional and unfortunate reports that our artists for the 2019 UNAA Convention were denied visas. Let’s clear this up: The only official UNAA Convention will be the biggest UNAA Convention ever. August 29 to September 1st 2019.
