Reigning Miss World Vanessa Ponce de Leon was received by president Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Thursday evening at his home in Rwakitura in Kiruhura District.

Vanessa has been in the country since July 23rd ahead of the Miss Uganda 2019 grand finale that is set to take place tonight (26th July) at Sheraton Kampala Hotel.

Since her arrival in the pearl of Africa, Vanessa Ponce de Leon has described Uganda as an exceptionally beautiful part of the world that is still a hidden treasure even to her Mexican people.

In company of Miss Uganda 2018/19 Quinn Abenakyo, Vanessa was welcomed by the president in Rwakitura as he congratulated her upon her achievement having been crowned Miss World in December last year.

During the meeting with the president, Vanessa had a chat about several ways how the tourism industry can be promoted with emphasis on the beauty pageant.

Using her exposure as Miss World, Vanessa clarified on how the pageant can be used for charity work especially on the plight of women and children. She acknowledged Quinn Abenakyo’s contribution to the cause.
