Is there such a thing like a ‘public private show’? We can’t find the right words to use in the case of Vice President Edward Ssekandi who got a private show from Phina ‘Masanyalaze’ Mugerwa during a public gathering.

It all happened when Phina Mugerwa was given a chance to perform at the International Youth Day celebrations which happened at St. Gonzaga Gonza Primary School Kagoma in Jinja on 12th August 2019.

Despite performing at several big stages in the past, the songstress must have looked at this opportunity as one of a lifetime as she arose to perform for several dignitaries who included the VP, Speaker of Parliament and MPs.

While performing her song ‘Fundukululu’, she got closer to the tent that had these VIP guests. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga could not stay seated and stood up to dance with Mugerwa. She then walked towards Edward Ssekandi.

She wined and gyrated right infront of the 77-year-old as he watched on, seemingly interested in having the show to himself. After being impressed, he stretched out and handed over an envelope to the singer.

We cannot confirm what the envelope contained but it couldn’t have been a love letter of course. Probably a large sum of money as a token of appreciation.

We wonder if the Anti-Pornography Control Committee will jump onto this issue too and if so, which person is to be condemned. We’re watching it closely.
