One more of Jose Chameleone’s dreams has been finally achieved after the legendary Afrigo Band revealed that he is the only artiste featured on their new music album.
Joseph ‘Chameleone’ Mayanja has often expressed his gratitude towards the Afrigo Band members as part of his inspiration and the people who gave him guidance as a young artiste growing into the industry.
The music industry in Uganda, from decades ago, has been shaped around a few key players inclusive of Jose Chameleone and Afrigo Band, both playing an integral role in its evolution from foreign domination.
Afrigo Band has been around for over 40 years while Chameleone has lasted just over two decades. For the 20 years Chameleone has survived musically, Afrigo have not released an album and their glory has been so much marinated in their former masterpieces. Their most recent release, a single, dropped ten years ago.

The two parties had never been on a song together and that is gonna be put to history after it being revealed that the Leone Island boss is featuring on a song off their new album dubbed ‘Teri Mubi’.
‘Teri Mubi’ is an eleven-track album which will be officially launched on October 11th 2019 at Hotel Africana, Kampala. It features songs; some that have been heard before though remastered, and brand new ones.
Vincent Othieno, a Nairobi-based producer did the most on the production of the new album and it is ready for both the young and veteran fans of the legendary band to have a feel of their new and legendary sound.
Moses Matovu, a lead singer and instrumentalist in the band, reveals that they saw need to collaborate with Chameleone – whom he refers to as a son – on the new album which is already available on Tidal and yet to be availed on other streaming platforms.
