It’s Leilah Nakabira’s birthday today (13th September) and what better way to celebrate new age than with two nominations at the Kenyan-based Lake International Pan African Film Festival Awards 2019?

Since its release, the movie ‘The Forbidden‘ has received massive applause with recognition and nominations in several awards world over. Various movie makers, actors and actresses involved in the movie have also won numerous awards.

One of those that have reaped big from the movie is Leilah Nakabira who plays the lead role in Claire Nampala’s film. She has been across the world, at the African Film Festival in the USA most recently, all because of this film.

Her latest nomination now is in the Lake International Pan African Film Festival 2019 awards where she has been nominated for Best Child Performer and Best Actress.

The awards have recognized other Ugandans (all involved in The Forbidden film) including Daniel Lowly Mbabazi, Hillary Musiima, Kasozi Austin, and Kizito Samuel Saviour. Rwamusigazi Kyakinzire and Mulindwa Richard also got nominated for their roles in the 94 Terror film.
