Sunday afternoon was marred with rumors and unconfirmed reports from several local media sources revealing how former Blu*3 songstress Jackie Chandiru had kicked the bucket.

Several of music fans, critics, and sympathizers quickly got to their gadgets to type ‘R.I.P Chandiru’ on their different social media platforms and for a moment, it had started to sink in that one of Uganda’s most talented divas is gone.

Jackie Chandiru has been battling drug addiction and has been in and out of several health and rehabilitation facilities for several years, the most recent one being the Naguru health from which she reportedly escaped from with the help of her friends.

She gave a shot at a comeback towards the end of 2018 and performed at a couple of shows, giving hope to most of her fans. One of the shows she last performed at was the Awilo Longomba concert that happened at Kampala Serena Hotel on April 5th 2019 before relapsing back into drug abuse.

Several reports have been indicating that she breathed her last on Sunday afternoon but they are all FALSE. Jackie Chandiru is alive and kicking though not in an ideal healthy state.

The false reports were rubbished by her manager identified as Julie Erusa who used her social media pages to restore hope in the hearts of the songstress’ fans and supporters saying; “Jackie Chandiru is not dead.”

Sources close further revealed that she indeed still breathing but her condition keeps worsening and she will need improved medical attention as well as prayers from well-wishers.
