2019 has so far seen Ugandans support their beloved musicians amazingly despite a handful of some whose music concerts have turned out as huge flops.
From the support that fans have shown to local artistes thus far this year, Mpaka Records boss Ykee Benda has been left highly impressed and humbled.
Without a proper way to express his delight in Ugandan music lovers and fans, Ykee has opened up via his socials to share how he believes that 90% of the events that have been held were a success.
On top of that, the MunaKampala hitmaker revealed that Uganda is the most musically talented country in Africa noting that no other country can match our local talent.
He made the statements after witnessing Gravity Omutujju register success at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Saturday night during his concert.
This is not only about Gravity, but the whole industry. I’m so happy and pleased by the rate at which you are supporting home talent, yes that’s how Nigeria, South Africa, and other countries did to get to those levels, home support first.
90% of the Ugandan music events organized this year have succeeded so far. That shows how much Ugandans are believing in local artists.
When you check Ugandan music videos, audios (well mixed and mastered here in Uganda), and a lot more things show that naffe twelwanako as we wait for God’s time to open those doors. Uganda is the most talented country in Africa musically, what we do, no other country can do, but what they do, we can do too.Ykee Benda | Facebook
