By the looks of things, it was a basic day for Lydia Bless and she had started thinking her birthday was going to diminish without anything special but yet another tiring performance at a hangout in Makindye.
The songstress marks her birthday every 25th October as she celebrates the day she was born. For several top stars, such days are filled with glamour, pomp, friends, gifts, and all the good things.
For Lydia Bless, real name Lydia Namatovu, it wasn’t the case for most of the day without signs of anything special. Little did she know that her new management, Nick Products promotions, was preparing something later for her.
At around 10pm, she had was told that she had to perform for revelers at Club Milano in Makindye and she had to get up and get on with the hustle. She arrived at the venue at around midnight.
Despite the heavy presence of cameras, Lydia wasn’t moved an inch because that always happens at several shows where she has performed.
She was however shocked to the brim when she saw her mother in the crowd of the people who were waiting to watch her perform. Holding a bouquet of flowers, she stood amongst her daughter’s fans and Lydia couldn’t hold the excitement in.
She emotionally ran and hugged her for quite a while, with tears rolling down her eyes – probably it had now set in that it wasn’t to be an ordinary night any longer.
She had been surprised on her birthday and what a way to do it because her mother had traveled all the way from Masaka just to be part of the surprise party organized by her daughter’s management.
The night got better and better as it went on with Lydia Bless performing for the filled up Club Milano. She was showered with gifts, cash, and cake by her fans and it should be one of the moments she’ll never forget.
Speaking to media, Lydia revealed that it was indeed one of the best surprises so far and she thanked her management for the efforts invested in the night.
I wasn’t in the know of this birthday party.. It was organised by my management, Nick Products. I reached here without a clue. I was only aware that I was gonna perform. I cried upon seeing mom because I didn’t expect her to be here at all. She is from Masaka.Lydia Bless
