On Wednesday morning, news had it that Edwin Katamba a.k.a MC Kats was fired and had his contract with Pearl Of Africa hotel terminated. He refutes the claims but confirms that his weekly show will not be going on.

MC Kats bitterly left Kololo-based Fame Lounge in September after the bosses there accused him of taking drinks on credit and failing to pay back on top of disrespecting the staff. His contract was terminated.

The celebrated TV personality, events emcee, and talent manager with Kats Music moved his copyrighted night, ‘Meet Celebrity Wednesday’, to Pearl Of Africa hotel and it has been happening for a period of a month at the Moonlight Flower bar.

It will not be going on henceforth however because the POA hotel management decided to stop it and in a statement released, it was on mutual consent after discussions with Kats.

The blogs however had it that the NBS After 5 presenter was fired from POA after falling out with the bosses just like he did before being fired from Fame Lounge.

Through Instagram, MC Kats revealed the real reason why the night was stopped. He said that he was not fired as it is being reported but he could not battle competition from other bars which sell beer at a lower price because POA is a 5-star hotel with a higher pricing.

We’re not able to work with Pearl Of Africa anymore, not because I was fired. I wouldn’t be fired, I quit. When I feel like it’s too much for me I walk away because I’m too busy, I have so many things I do.

If you’re doing a midweek party and people are buying drinks at double price than they buy it at other bars, you can’t beat the competition because you’re dealing with the same crowd that goes out on Wednesdays.
