2021 is not so far away and the political spheres are reaching boiling point way faster than in the past. One of the top figures in Uganda’s politics today is Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu a.k.a Bobi Wine.

The musician and MP made his intentions to become Uganda’s next president known earlier this year and he has already started implementing plans as per his road map towards the 2021 general elections.

The ruling party, NRM, has also devised measures to counter the People Power pressure group leader. Several musicians have been recruited into the NRM, some as Presidential Advisers.

Bebe Cool, Buchaman, Catherine Kusasira, Sipapa, among others, have been fronted as the NRM’s representatives in the ghettos something which has fetched mixed reactions from the public.

Another artiste King Michael, real name Mugwanya Michael, has also risen to express his views on why he doesn’t believe Bobi Wine can make a good president.

During an interview King Michael revealed that Bobi is a renown selfish person whose traits are well known by several artistes that he has dealt with in his music career.

The ‘Lido Lido’ singer hence thinks that Bobi cannot make a good president and he will oppress the people if he ever wins the presidential seat. He therefore calls upon musicians not to let the self-proclaimed Ghetto President win the top position in the nation.

We as musicians weren’t happy with Bobi Wine’s selfish interests of contesting for presidency for the very first time and he can’t be our president.

I want Bobi Wine to understand that he failed to remember his roots in the ghetto. Since going to the Parliament, he has never organised a meeting for the ghetto. It’s only until the President (Museveni) started organizing meetings in the ghetto. The ghetto dwellers had lost hope because Bobi forgot about them.
