Once again, Ugandan actress and screenwriter Leilah Nakabira made the Ugandan film industry proud and honored when she successfully represented her nation.

The cheerful news comes in following a glorious night at the Kenyan LIPFF – Film festival awards where Uganda managed to scoop three awards out of 5 nominations.

Nakabira, who was nominated in the Best Child Performer and Best Actress categories for her role in the movie ‘The Forbidden‘ successfully managed to beat her competitors to the gong.

Whereas ’94_Terror’ won the Best Cinematography award and the Jury’s award went to a Ugandan short movie titled ‘Breadwinner’.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who prayed and wished us well. Last night we managed to win three awards from our 5 nominated movies at LIPFF – Film Festival Best Screenwriter going to @The Forbidden movie. Best cinematography going to #94_Terror And Jury’s Award to a Ugandan short movie called #Breadwinner congratulations to us and thanks to the festival jury for having watched and honored our films.

Congratulations upon the triumph!
