Rosa Ree banned from performing over obscene video

Dancehall music goddess Rosary Robert a.k.a Rosa Ree who was recently in town, has been banned from taking part in any music-related activities for a period of six months over an obscene video she shot with Kenyan singer Timmy Tdat.

The Tanzania Music Regulatory Board, known as Baraza la Sanaa la Taifa (BASATA), made the decision following the release of the singers’ video titled ‘Vitamin U’, wherein some scenes the two leave very little to imagination.

Rosa Ree has now been banned from performing in and out of Tanzania and she will not be in a position to release any new music until the ban period is over.

Before the video was pulled down on YouTube by Timmy Tdat, Rosa Ree was last week summoned by BASATA acting CEO Onesmo Kayanda to explain herself.

The board found her with two mistakes other than sharing explicit content online. One, she never brought the project to Basata for review and two she did not enter into a contract with the international artiste she collaborated with as per the law.

Even though the video was pulled down Rosa Ree will have to serve her punishment as her counter Timmy Tdat continues to enjoy life.
