Again, omwavu wakuffa this party season! If you’re a fan of Ugandan urban music, open your calendar and mark December 6th as the date when Love will meet Hip-hop.

Solome Basuuta, under her label VINT EDGE, is spearheading a fresh event on the scene dubbed ‘Love Meets Hip-hop’ slated for next month (6th December).

Solome Basuuta is a vocally gifted Ugandan singer, songwriter, and performer whose music is filled with so much LOVE. Her primary genre of music is Soul. She prefers to call it “The LOVE” genre. It’s not far-fetched anyway.

She came onto the music scene as a backing vocalist for ‘Mwooyo’ singer Maurice Kirya. She released her debut album titled ‘The Song Love’ on 1st May 2015 at a concert held at Golf Course Hotel.

She has since performed at various top events around the country including; Blankets & Wine, Qwela Junction, AKa Dope, Klarified, and Kampala SoFar. She is currently working on her second studio album.

The idea behind the new concept ‘LOVE NIGHTS’ is to create a love-themed musical experience featuring collaboration between Solome Basuuta and artists from other genres. The event shall happen every two months, having different themes.

‘Love Meets Hip-hop’, will showcase well-produced, high-energy performances combining Soul, Jazz, Afro-soul and Hip-hop. It goes down at Zone 7 with gates opening at 7 pm.
