Irene Namatovu had a good streak in her career the past two years, crowning them with international recognition at the 2018 AFRIMA awards where she actually returned at this year’s edition but unfortunately lost the Best African Dance or Choreography Artist of the Year to Animaux.

The Da Nu Eagles band member has also kept expanding her music collection with a couple of new tracks and by the looks of it, she seems to be targeting the African market.

In her latest song titled ‘Asaana Asiimwe’, Irene Namatovu urges lovers to appreciate their partners. She advises men to take the bold step and introduce their lovers to their parents because it’s what differentiates between a wife and a girlfriend.

The timing of the song will most probably raise concern because it comes at a time after Rema Namakula and Dr. Hamzah Ssebunya’s controversial introduction (Kwanjula) ceremony.

Sometimes even if the money is not much you need to introduce your woman because its the most respectful gift you can give her.

Asaana Asiimwe was produced by Jonah Pro. The video, which easily expresses the joy of a woman on her introduction ceremony, was directed by Saint Jude Nyanja of Rosa Uganda.
