Ugandan fashion designer and CEO Kais Divo Collection; Kaijuka Abbas was named the Best Designer of the Year at the Nigerian-based The MAN Awards 2019.
Uganda registered a major win at the 2019 Men’s Fashion Week Nigeria 2019 which took place from the 28th to 29th November 2019 at the Royal Oak Event Center in Lagos.
The MFWN recognizes African fashion designers in men’s wear, accessories and emerging talent with each edition. This year’s edition was themed ‘Man Cessory’ and different designers from across Africa showcased.
Kais Divo Collection CEO Kaijuka Abbas was at the venue, together with other fashionistas, to inspire Africa with his special designs. That in itself must have felt like a win for him already.
He will live to tell of his trip to Nigeria as his name was written in the history books of the fashion awards as the 2019 Designer of the Year (AFRICA).
Kaijuka couldn’t hold his excitement as he shared photos of him holding the award in his hands, like a newborn baby, with the caption:
Happy to announce that I was awarded DESIGNER OF THE YEAR (Africa) at The MAN AWARDS 2019 last night in Nigeria, Lagos. Extremely honoured and humbled. A humongous thanks to everyone who has always been supportive to me, God bless you.

Kaijuka is also nominated a couple of categories at the 2019 Abryanz Style and Fashion Awards which are slated to happen on 13th December at the Kampala Serena Hotel.
