At a quarter past midnight, Congolese music legend Kanda Bongo Man was on stage performing for thousands of revelers at the Sheraton Kampala Hotel Gardens.

As a norm for most people, December 31st calls for celebrations and different people celebrate differently. In Uganda, revelers usually turn up at various venues to dance themselves into the new year.

Thousands of music fans and party animals made it to the Sheraton Kampala Hotel Gardens on 31st December 2019 to welcome the new year with a concert headlined by the legendary Kanda Bongo Man.

Kabako gave an energetic performance

Before the Paris-based 65-year-old singer made it to the stage, several top Ugandan artistes kept revelers entertained including Eddy Kenzo, Bebe Cool, Kabako, John Blaq, among others.

Singer Jose Chameleone, as it has been in the past years, stepped on stage a few minutes before midnight and he performed a couple of his songs to usher the excited revelers into the new year with fireworks lighting up the skies.

Kanda Bongo Man then came on stage at around 12:15 a.m amidst loud cheers from the happy crowds. He sang a couple of his famous hit songs in a performance that lasted an hour and a half.

It was a night to remember for most of those in attendance as memories from their past were brought back to life with the Congolese’s performance. Must have been such a happy start to the new year!
