Ugandan celebrity Zari Hassan extends her lead as the most followed East African socialite on Instagram with 7 million followers on the app. She denies buying followers as claimed by her critics.

In July 2019, Zari hit the 6 million followers mark to become the most followed socialite in East Africa. It has now taken her just five months to add another million and now stands at 7 million.

The mother of five shared the good news on the double-tap app as she thanked her followers. She also denied buying followers as it has been alleged by her critics.

In her defense, Zari says that Instagram has put up very strict regulations for verified pages and those that buy followers risk being deleted immediately.

Thank you so much for 7 million. I really do appreciate you my followers. You are my MVPs. To some who think I buy followers you should try it. Instagram has very strict regulations especially with verified pages that if you do, they will delete your account instantly. That said, keep the love flowing. Love you back 10much.
