Within just 24 hours, Omwavu had graduated, taken several women on dates, been hosted on the Ellen Show, fought the Al-Shabaab, among several other achievements.

Just not to keep you in the blinds, Omwavu is a Luganda word which means ‘A Poor Person’. You must have come across the phrase ‘Omwavu wakuffa’ several times before on social media, in public places, and even in a couple of Ugandan songs.

Yesterday, the phrase was popularized by Ugandans On Twitter as they used Kermit the frog – a muppet character famously known for the Sesame Street show.

The puppet’s images have been used as memes for hilarious real life situations as different Tweeps add funny captions to befitting photos of Kermit.

Others went ahead and used the memes to promote their businesses and events as they claimed that Omwavu had finally found some ka money to attend their respective events.

A couple of celebrities did not let the trend pass them by as they were seen dragging Omwavu into their music promotional posts. Most notably, Spice Diana and Azawi did the most to keep it trending.

Take a look at some of the memes we managed to capture across social media:
