Swangz Avenue star Priscilla Zawedde a.k.a Azawi released ‘My Year’ – the first single off her upcoming album – on Friday.
Since signing with Swangz a year ago, Azawi has showed what she is capable of especially with the success of her debut 5-track EP dubbed “Lo Fit“.
All the songs off the Lo Fit EP received massive airplay and Azawi has already become a household name in the local music industry.
She looks forward to capitalising on the early success with yet another album which will be released as the year unfolds.

The first release off the album is ‘My Year’ which was produced by Michael Fingers at Swangz Avenue studios.
The Afro-pop song was written by Azawi herself and it the sound on this one is very different from her past releases.
In the lyrics, Azawi self-affirms success and abundance by acknowledging that this is her year indeed.
It is a very conscious song sang in English to lead the album which, according to her, is aimed at reaching out to a larger audience.
“I wanted to give myself an opportunity for a bigger audience,” the jolly Azawi revealed while appearing on radio.
The visuals of the song were shot at Moon light Studios in Johannesburg as directed by Kenny Mumba.
Azawi appears with her fresh new look in this multi-scene colorful video.
The director delivered an abstract feel tapping into the global trend of abstract videos with great visuals.
