Formerly a Leone Island singer, Video Brown seeks a return to the mainstream music scene with a new album dubbed ‘Africa Green Light’.

Video Brown a.k.a Mujaasi Owokumwala is a European-based Ugandan singer, producer, deejay, songwriter, and CEO Above Management Group.

He describes his music to be of the Afro-dancehall genre. He was born and raised in Uganda by Mr and Mrs Abdul Kaddu Sabata a former boxing Heavyweight Commonwealth Champion.

Video Brown started commercial music in the Leone Island Music Empire crew headed by Dr. Jose Chameleone.

As a young boy, he did music before relocating to Europe where he has been staying and making a living.

He has now decided to return to music with a new album which he hopes can reestablish his brand on the Ugandan scene and later on the continent.

‘Africa Green Light’ is his debut album with twenty songs. He shows his versatility on the album with the different genres including Afrobeats, Reggae, Ragga, Dancehall, and Amapiano.

The album consists of songs like “Abakulembedde” where he takes you through the lifestyle in the ghettos and the street life attitude.

Video Brown’s album features artistes from across the world including; Ibris from Mali on Africa Green Light, DJ Black from Nigeria on Balance It Up, Raya from Russia on Sente, and others from Uganda.

This year, several local artists have already revealed plans of outing music albums. The likes of Ykee Benda, Dre Cali, Navio, among others are already planning album releases.

With his new album, Video Brown’s plans perfectly suit the current trend in the Ugandan music space.
