After watching his fellow artists Geoffrey Lutaaya, Dr. Hilderman, and artist manager Kayemba Geoffrey Solo swear in as lawmakers in the 11th parliament, singer Ronald Mayinja says he doesn’t regret not vying for a parliamentary seat.
The singer who caused a stir among National Unity Platform supporters and NRM when he twice turned his back against the former made the statements in an interview on Bukedde TV.
Ronald Mayinja revealed that he doesn’t regret the decision he took not to run for a parliamentary seat after being asked if he feels remorseful when he sees his fellow artists he was with in the same camp swearing-in.
He says that he announced that he wasn’t going to run for the position of Member of parliament before even the vetting process happened at the NUP offices in Kamwokya.
I don’t have any regrets of not contesting for a Member of Parliament position despite the fact that in the first place I had announced how I was going to contest for the Gomba MP seat.
I, however, changed my mind while at NUP offices and publicly told everyone that I was not going to run for an MP seat. So I don’t regret. Anyway, congratulations to Dr. Hilderman, Geoffrey Lutaaya, and Manager Solo Kayemba.Ronald Mayinja
