Singer Ronald Mayinja is unhappy with fans and music critics who describe band musicians and artists who sing in Luganda as “local artists”.

According to Ronald Mayinja, all those who call artists who sing in Luganda “local” are the people who have mastered a few English words but in actual sense they don’t know even the meaning of the word.

He went on to state how singer Nicki Minaji is a local artist in her country something which he believes that critics who call him local don’t know.

Ronald Mayinja went on to sting all those who call him a local artist as people who don’t even possess passports which is a first document to becoming international.

Ugandans really amuse me. Because they’ve mastered a few English words, they feel those who sing in Luganda are local but do they even know the meaning of the word?

Even Nicki Minaj is local in her country but I doubt many even know this. You don’t own even a passport, the first document to becoming international, where do you get the authority of calling someone local?
