Celebrated Ugandan model and beauty queen Nnalongo Judith Heard is not convinced that the Ministry of Tourism has done enough to support the modelling industry.

Recent years have seen the Ugandan flag waved so high by various Ugandan beauty queens and models at globally recognised events.

The most recent one was Judith Heard who won the Miss Elite Africa 2021-2022 crown on 30th May, 2021 in Egypt.

The mother of three beat popular models, singers, and other celebrities in their 20s from other African countries to wrap the Ugandan flag on the crown.

She is, however, not happy with the way to modeling industry has been ignored by the Ministry of Tourism.

While speaking to media, JH revealed that the outgoing minister of Tourism Godfrey Kiwanda did not make enough effort to provide assistance to those who market Uganda abroad.

Judith Heard noted that even in her own endeavours to win the Miss Elite Africa crown for Uganda, she had to sponsor her own travel.

She believes that despite the Ugandan modelling industry having lots of talented young ladies and gentlemen, their dreams have been frustratingly ignored and yet the ministry is always the first to congratulate them when they win.

The minister refused to sponsor me when I was leaving for the (Miss Elite World) pageant. (The) Tourism Ministry is only early in congratulating us after winning but doing less in its roles.
