Singer Record Elah Butida is all smiles following his release on police bond from the Special Investigations Unity (SIU) Kireka police prisons where he spent more than a week.
The “Baka Basajja Banyuma” singer found himself languishing behind bars when he was arrested with his manager Sipapa and two others while at a certain hotel in Makindye.
Upon Record Elah’s release, some of his close friends disclosed that they were arrested on charges of theft.
According to their lawyer, the police charged Sipapa and his colleagues of theft of three mobile phones, a laptop, and a power bank.
Record Elah Butida was set free with two others with whom they were arrested including Sipapa’s driver Julius and their female friend who were not found guilty of the charges.
Sipapa’s associates while down on their knees, pleaded to the Head of State asking for Sipapa’s unconditional release. They say he is a rich person who cannot steal mobile phones and a laptop.
