Sunday 22nd October 2023 will be talked about for a couple of months to come by Ugandan revelers as the date the 1st Edition of the Bell Lager-sponsored ObaFest happened at Jahazi Pier Munyonyo.

Arriving at the venue, the setup of different stages, well-decorated with stalls in different places showcasing African craft, food, fashion, and so much more welcomed revelers into the festival.

Refreshments, food, games, painting, and music then took the course at different points from the gate all the way down to the lake shores.

Performances from the renowned emcees including Sammy Wetala, Miss Deedan, Dagy Nyce, and Viana Indi, among others alongside deejay sets from the very best Ugandan deejays set the mood for the fun-lovers early on.

Joshua Baraka kicked off artists’ performances at around 5 p.m., singing his top hits on the live band as the crowd cheered him on.

Azawi, Spice Diana, Fik Fameica, Mun G, and Irene Ntale, then represented Uganda quite well on the star-studded main stage that also featured Kenya’s BenSoul and Nyashinski, and Tanzania’s Harmonize.

All artists let out all their energy on the main stage and the last performer, Harmonize, sent the crowd into laughter at different points of his performance most notably when he opened up about having a crush on Swangz Avenue’s Winnie Nwagi.
