Legendary Tanzanian singer Mr Nice, real names Lucas Mkenda, is back on both feet and ready to feed his fans with more of his unique sound. The music icon is currently in Uganda.

For many years, Mr Nice has been one of the popular artistes in East Africa. The singer gained fame in the early 2000s for his hit songs like Fagilia, Kikulacho, Kidali Po, Rafiki, among others.

His ‘TAKEU’ style of music that fuses Tanzanian, Kenyan, and Uganda music styles has enabled his music to crossover and dominate the East African airwaves over the years.

In 2015 Mr Nice was pronounced dead due to a strange illness by bloggers in Tanzania. The singer disregarded the fake reports and he believes it was a move by his enemies who were using the opportunity of his disappearance from the public eye to create fracas.

He states that it was one of the most difficult periods in his entire life and it had an impact on his family, friends, and fans. However, like any other strong man, Mr Nice put the situation behind him and now looks to revamp his greatness.

Mr Nice’s first love was music and he believes it is the reason he has numerous fans from allover the world. It is for that mere fact that he is hitting the studio again

The singer visited Fire Base records studios in Kamwokya on Sunday to work on a couple of new projects. Among other projects, he is lining up major collaborations with a few Ugandan artistes who he prefers to keep undisclosed.

Mr Nice believes that there is great potential among Ugandan artistes and by working with them, there is a great impact these collaborations can add onto the dynamic music industry.
